It’s almost official. Be still my heart. Where do I get in line for tickets?
On a related but snarky note- anyone else think Danny looks like he’s posing for a mug shot?

Uh. You’re worrying me.
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
My formative years were in teh 80’s! Surely you can’t expect much more of me?
True story: back in the day, the big pop station in town was Q104 (for you non KC-types now it’s country). There was a DJ named Chuck Nasty who ran a hoax and duped pre-teens like yours truly into calling the station and believing they had won tickets to an NKOTB concert (the one at Sandstone) AND backstage passes. Well holy crap I went ballistic. Problem was that no such tickets or backstage passes existed. One of the (over a 100) girls that got duped had a daddy that was a lawyer and he threatened a big ugly lawsuit. I believe Mr. Nasty was fired and, to atone, the station made arrangements to bus us all to St. Louis for a concert there. It was August and the day before I was to begin 6th grade in a brand new school where I knew no one. Our bus had air conditioning that quit working somewhere along I-70 (though we were mightily entertained by Fast Eddie), our seats were total CRAP, the backstage passes “fell through” and we didn’t get back to KC until 5 a.m. and I missed my first day of school. The following day I was labeled a total dork because I *gasp* liked NKOTB (they’re, like, lame!). That was my last New Kids concert and, dammit, if they come to town I’m going to go and rock out.
For the record, I was tooling around teh internets and listening to some of their old songs…wow. They weren’t terribly awesome, were they? But I’m still going!
Yes. I too am unreasonably excited about this and will certainly attend any concert I can. I am sure that their reunion will end in disaster, but I don’t care. I feel like I’m eleven again.
And, I didn’t even go to the link. I knew exactly what you were talking about without it. My sister is also acting like the preteen fan she once was, which means her infant son heard a lot of NKOTB today.
YES! If possible we should be total goobers and go together.
It’s funny, but I hated them when I was a kid, and assumed they were just totally unredeemable, but now, watching some of the videos, they were really formulaic, but not really that bad. I am chastened. Plus, the only one who was tolerable to me then, Jordan, has grown up to look like the sort of guy I would date.
Really? That surprises me.
For me, I was crazy in love with Joey and still harbor a nostalgic crush. What surprises me is how damn hot Donnie has gotten over the years. I thought he was kind of icky when I was a kid but now…(is that irony ;).
I have just vomited a little bit in my mouth.
My formative years were the 70’s. My sad music crush was the BeeGees. *Shudder.
However, I redeemed myself by becoming a total punk in high school. And I mean that in the musical sense.
