10 reasons I’d rather vote for Nader than Clinton

May 7, 2008

10. Ridiculous gas tax “holiday.” And her insistence that economists who have declared the idea dumb are “elitists” (i.e. all of them).

9. The word “elitist” getting tossed out whenever anyone disagrees with her. Inigo Montoya once said “You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means.”

8. Her vote for the war in Iraq.

7. The experience claim. Trips with Sheryl Crow and Sinbad don’t count. She claims 35-years experience (with no real proof) but only has four more years in the Senate than Obama.

6. Mocking Obama during his stump speeches. If you have to resort to middle school tactics (no doubt encouraged by her sleezeball campaign team- Mark Penn, Howard Wolfson et al ) then you must not have much to offer.

5. Her open threat that we would “obliterate” Iran. With what fucking army? Way to dig that hole! Our country has endured 8-years of a trigger happy president. Four more and we’ll be completely fucked.

4. Loves lobbyists and Wal-Mart. Isn’t D.C. corrupt enough?

3 (tie). a. “As far as I know he’s not a Muslim.” Seriously? Even if he WAS a Muslim (and he’s not) should it matter? Just because someone is a Muslim it doesn’t mean they’re a terrorist. Christ! Way to fear monger, Senator Clinton! Yeah!

b. The 3 a.m. phone call ad. If she’s so quick to fly off the handle (see #5) I sure as hell don’t want her answering that phone.

2. Her insistence that the Michigan and Florida delegates should be seated as is. Isn’t this cheating?

The number one reason is pretty much the one that put the nail in the coffin of any hope of my voting for Clinton.

1. The sniper fire in Bosnia claim. My father did two tours of duty in Vietnam. As he put it, “You don’t forget being under sniper fire.” That outrageous lie was so unnecessary and so disrespectful to war veterans and the men and women fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq who have encountered sniper fire, IED’s and other direct, violent threats to their lives. Plus she didn’t just lie about it once, she did so on several occasions. Shame on YOU, Mrs. Clinton. You won’t be my president.

Nader was extremely well qualified to be president but it could never happen. If he ever became a threat, the vested interests would come up with billions to stop him if necessary.

As it was, he proved that the difference between GW Bush and Gore was infinately more than the difference between tweedley dee and twidley dum.

Someday the encyclopedia will have nader’s picture next to “The law of unintended results”

nader gave us dubya and iraq.

    #1,

Gore was never entilted to any votes that Nader got. Pure and simple, Gore didnt get them. That is no one’s fault by his and those who ran his campaign.

But Gore was entitled to the votes that people mistakedly gave to Buchannon.

Gore and Nader have since made peace.

True Gore was not entitled to Nader’s votes but just as surely Nader gave us Bush and Iraq.

Hey I agrreed that Nader was VERY qualified to be President but there was never any chance he could ever be elected.

Anyone who voted for Nader in Florida cast 1/2 of a vote for GW Bush.

We can thank the U.S. Supreme Court for being stuck with Bush and, consequently, the Iraq war.

This has nothing to do with Clinton or Nader…but what does one do when sent an email at work from a co-worker that is completely stupid an untruthful about the presidential canidate I hope makes it to the White House? Does one take the high road and leave politics at the door in the work place, or does one polietly but firmly respond that the email sent out was retarded and that I fully support this canidate and that the stupid rumors the email is spreading is just that- STUPID, and that we will just have to agree to disagree on our political opinions? Hmmmm…..

By the way tonks, I agree with you.

    Oh good Lord.

One directs the Winger moron to this page and then politely requests that they not send you any more political forwards as it’s readily apparent that you have very differing opinions on the subject and leave it at that. If s/he persists, you may talk to one of the partners because heated political discourse isn’t really conducive to a productive work environment.
